This morning, Cappadocia once again proved why it is one of the world’s most magical ballooning destinations. As part of the festival celebrations, 38 hot air balloons from 27 different countries took to the skies from Göreme at sunrise, meeting the region’s breathtaking landscapes in a spectacular aerial dance.

Designed in a variety of shapes and figures, the balloons gracefully floated over the iconic fairy chimneys and ancient rock formations, creating an unforgettable visual feast. Hundreds of local and international visitors watched in awe, capturing the moment in photographs and memories.

Nevşehir Governor Ali Fidan highlighted Cappadocia’s global significance in balloon tourism, stating:
“Today, our skies came alive with 38 specially designed balloons from 27 countries. In 2024, balloon flights in the region broke records both in the number of flights and passengers. Last year, approximately 770,000 people experienced a balloon ride here. In the first seven months of 2025, we have already seen a 10% increase in passenger numbers and a 4% rise in flights. By the end of the year, we expect to break yet another record.”

The Governor also warmly invited everyone to witness this extraordinary view from the skies themselves.

A Festival Growing Every Year

Festival Director Halis Aydoğan emphasized that Cappadocia enjoys nearly 250 flyable days each year. He noted that the sixth edition of the festival welcomed balloons from 27 countries, with the growing interest each year greatly supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Polish balloon pilot Le Andreo, attending for the second time with his specially shaped balloon, shared his excitement:
“Everything here is simply amazing. Even seeing this view for the second time is thrilling.”

Visitor Serkan Genç also described the atmosphere as “incredibly captivating, different, and peaceful.”
