At Pasha Balloons, the only domestic hot air balloon manufacturer based in Cappadocia, we are proud to mark another milestone in our journey. With the successful design and production of our new fuel tanks using entirely local resources, we have now achieved 100% domestic manufacturing in hot air balloon production.

Since beginning our operations in 2019, we have been dedicated to advancing Turkey’s aviation technology and expanding its global presence. Today, we are thrilled to unveil the T-99 model fuel tank, officially recognized as the world’s largest-capacity hot air balloon fuel tank. With a volume of 99 liters (approximately 45 kg), the T-99 is our own original design, developed and manufactured at our facilities in Cappadocia.

The launch event was held at our production center and hosted by our Chairman of the Board, Mehmet Halis Aydoğan, who introduced the groundbreaking T-99 tank. “Our T-99 fuel tank stands as the highest-volume tank ever designed specifically for hot air balloons,” Aydoğan said. “It is constructed from duplex stainless steel and has successfully passed the European Union-certified inspection and certification process.”

Aydoğan noted that countries with strong ballooning industries, such as Turkey, Tanzania, Egypt, and Mexico, prefer large-volume tanks for their extended flight capabilities. With this innovation, we now produce every essential component of a hot air balloon—from the envelope and basket to the burner system and now the fuel tank—using fully domestic and national resources.

Our Production Manager, Halil Doğan Gülmüş, emphasized the operational benefits of the new tank design. “Fuel tanks must be attached and detached before every flight, so ease of use is crucial,” he explained. “We have developed a design that optimizes the placement of connection points, saving pilots valuable time and enhancing safety.”

Gülmüş also shared that a local balloon operator has been using the new T-99 tanks over the past week, reporting highly positive feedback regarding performance and reliability.

With this new development, Pasha Balloons aims not only to serve the Turkish aviation industry but also to expand its footprint globally.
